What was one of the best moments in your pregnancy?

Hearing her heartbeat! I remember the first time we heard it and could see her on the ultrasound is when I really got excited about everything. It was amazing to see how small she was but hear her little heart! 

 

What do you wish someone had told you about having a newborn?

It might be hard to explain without living through it but I wish someone would have told me how much work it was but also how in love I would be. Its amazing how your body just powers through the exhaustion and wants to fulfill every need the little one has. It’s a really exciting time, full of learning and snuggling. 

 

What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Water Wipes! I use them for literally everything, even for myself! 

 

What’s your favorite part of being a mother?

I love watching Lila learn new things at every stage. It’s so exciting to be able to teach her new things and watch her eyes light up.

 

Do you have a typical mom anecdote that makes you smile?

In retrospect it’s funny, but at the time it was pretty awful. We took Lila on her first flight to Florida and changed her before the flight. Everything was going well but upon take-off we heard a little rumble. Sure enough she had pooped through her entire onesie- up to her shoulders. We  were told that the plane we were on didn’t have a changing table (another thing I didn't know about before being a mom!) So we had to change her in our seat - luckily our neighbor was sleeping! We were mortified! Needless to say, we now take a few changes of clothing when flying - just in case.
